Center for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI)

CBI supports developing country exporters in access to EU markets by proving training and capacity building in export development, by finding matching companies in the EU area and in providing market information on EU markets.

The International Trade Centre (ITC)
ITC is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. Their aim is for businesses in developing countries to become more competitive in global markets, speeding economic development and contributing to the achievement of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.

European Commission´s Export Helpdesk
The Export Helpdesk is an online service, provided by the European Commission, to facilitate market access for developing countries to the European Union. This service provides information on import tariffs, preferential arrangements and other requirements. Besides, export statistics are provided. Export Helpdesk

The Export Helpdesk on-line service provides answers to following questions:

• What is my product's code number in the European classification of goods?
• What requirements need to be fulfilled for my product to enter the EU?
• What taxes apply to my product?
• What is the duty applicable to my product?
• Does a preferential trade agreement apply to my country and my product?
• What preferential arrangements I am entitled to?
• How can I certify the origin of my product?
• How can I obtain detailed statistics about trade flows?
• How can I find EU partners?

Import Promotion Desk (IPD)
IPD services are geared towards small and medium-sized companies from emerging markets and developing countries with few or no existing contacts to Europe. Any company which fulfils the programme criteria can apply to the IPD. IPD is an initiative established by the Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA) and sequa gGmbH – the development organisation and partner of the German private sector.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs tries proactively to facilitate imports and solve trade barriers that products and services imported from developing countries face.  Ministry for Foreign Affairs provides its services for companies and associations. This service covers all countries.

The TradeCom Facility
The TradeCom Facility programme provides trade-related technical assistance to ACP countries. The TradeCom Facility is divided into three main, complementary, components, each with its specific beneficiaries and results: (1) Formulation of trade policies, (2) Trade negotiations and (3) Implementation of trade policies and international trade agreements. This programme is financed by the European Development Fund and its beneficiaries are regional or inter-regional organisations, ministries or authorities in charge of trade policies, private sector associations or other non-state organisations, amongst others.
